A high neckline, long sleeves, and a closed back create a gathered, seamless silhouette for Iman. Drapery on the bodice creates a soft relief and directs the line to the natural waist. Further, the silhouette closely follows the shape, combining the elongated plastic of the “mermaid” with the pure vertical of the sheath dress. Floral details add a delicate texture to the surface without changing the restrained composition. A shorter train completes the floor-length with a laconic continuation. It is this concentrated line from the neckline to the train that gives the model its recognizable character.
