Wedding and evening dresses with a low back

A low back is defined by the low point of the back neckline, not just the amount of exposed skin. Find it relative to the side seams and the fastener, trace a V, U or other line, check the underwear, raise your arms, sit down and take a photo straight from the back and at an angle.

In the three-quarters photo, the depth of the back can be seen more accurately than in the frontal mirror. It is made low by the lower point of the back neckline or the edge of the bodice, located significantly below the usual upper line. At the same time, the amount of open area depends on the width, shape and side joints, so "low" and "open" are not interchangeable names.

Depth and shape are different coordinates

Open back describes the degree of openness, and low - above all, depth. V-back tapers to a lower point, U-shaped outlines a softer arc; both can be of different depths. First find the lowest point, then trace both edges to the shoulders or side seams and check their symmetry.

Look at where the clasp ends and how the edge of the back meets the side of the bodice. On lace the drawing may partially hide the construction line, so consider it up close and in the photo. Evaluate underwear only with a specific dress: check whether the edges are visible from the back, at an angle, and after you raise your arms. The name of the attribute does not guarantee compatibility with a specific model of underwear.

Sit down, turn the body in each direction and stand straight again. Note whether the position of the bottom point, side joints or fastener has changed. Take a shot from the back and two diagonal ones - they show the width of the neckline and the transition to the sides. On samples in CRYSTAL redo photo after movement: this gives an actual view of the line without promises of support or visual lengthening of the hull.
