Wedding dresses with bolero

Wear a bolero on top strapless dresses — and a second neckline, sleeve line, and new bottom edge will appear above the bodice. It is a separate short top layer, so it should be read together with the dress, but not as a seamless continuation of its cut. Trace where the hem ends: above, at, or below the waist, and how it meets the seams of the bodice and the beginning of the skirt.

From the front, look at how much of the original neckline is left open. If there is a fastener, check its appearance in the closed and open position; from the back - how the neckline and lower edge frame the back of the dress. On lace match the direction of the pattern across the shoulders and sleeves, and in models with floral motif — the scale and density of the decor on both layers. Stitches and motifs can match or contrast, but it should look intentional from every angle.

Bolero is different from removable cape: the cape falls from the shoulders, while the bolero outlines the short part of the body in the front and back. Detachable sleeves change primarily the line of the arms and the place of attachment, but do not create the same top layer around the bodice. At the same time, the name "bolero" in itself does not confirm that the element is removable, included in the set, warms or changes the format of the image - this needs to be specified for a specific model.

At the fitting in CRYSTAL, raise and extend your arms, sit down and turn your body. Observe whether the bottom edge shifts, how the sleeves behave at the shoulder and elbow, and whether the relative position of the two layers does not change. Take a photo from the front, in profile and from the back: this way you can see not only the decor, but also the true proportion of the bolero in relation to the waist and skirt.
