Evening and wedding dresses on one shoulder
The diagonal from the framed shoulder to the open collarbone immediately makes the top asymmetrical and draws attention to one side. One-shoulder dresses are especially expressive in movement and in photos; the balance is determined by the direction of drapery, silhouette and decor, and it is worth checking the front, both profiles and the back on the fitting.

It is enough to return to the mirror from the other side - and the top of the dress is read in a new way. A shaped shoulder creates one point of weight, an open collarbone another, and a diagonal runs between them. Because of this deliberate imbalance, the one-shoulder neckline is especially noticeable in motion, portraits, and three-quarter shots. The back view shows whether the diagonal continues behind the shoulder.
Unlike a symmetrical dress without straps, here the decor is not distributed equally. Collection can extend the diagonal through the bodice, a bow or a flower — focus attention on the shoulder, beads — emphasize the direction with light. It is important to trace whether this line leads the eye further to the waist or ends only at the top. Both solutions are appropriate, but create a different scale of asymmetry.
IN cases the oblique line becomes the main dynamic detail against the background of the long adjacent contour. Straight silhouette provides a similar graphic contrast, while the A-line balances the active top with a flared skirt. If there is below cut, see if the directions of the two accents coincide: parallel lines bring the composition together, opposite ones make it more intense. This difference is best seen in the full-length photo.
The necklace often conflicts with the diagonal, so earrings or one piece of jewelry near the decorated shoulder work more cleanly. The collected hairstyle opens the entire contour; hair thrown to one side can either repeat the direction or cover the main part. At the fitting, take a photo from both profiles, sit down, raise your hands and walk - this way you can see how the line changes without a stage pose. More asymmetric models for the gala exit and reception are collected at catalogs of CRYSTAL evening dresses.
