Evening and wedding dresses with shoulder pads

Shoulder pads change the contour of the shoulder of a particular dress, but do not guarantee correction of proportions or posture. Compare the right and left edges in the face and profile, trace the transition to the sleeve or armhole, raise your arms and check whether the inner element does not show under the fabric after movement.

Take two shots from the same distance - directly and in profile. In the first, the height and symmetry of the shoulders can be seen, in the second, how much the hem goes beyond the natural line and how it passes into the sleeve or armhole. Armrests are internal or built-in elements of a particular design, but the attribute does not determine their thickness, material, removability, or feel when worn.

First, match the right and left sides in a natural position. Trace the contour from the neck to the outer edge of the shoulder, and then to long sleeve or open armhole, if they are in the model. See if the border of the inner piece can be read through the fabric in frontal and side light.

Magnificent sleeve creates external volume with fabric and assembly; the shoulder pad instead changes the inner base of the shoulder line. These decisions can be combined, but one does not confirm the other. Likewise, the modern character of the model can be estimated among modern style dresses, without automatically assigning it to each design.

At the CRYSTAL fitting, raise your arms, reach forward and turn your body. After the movement, again compare the edge of the shoulder, the transition into the sleeve and the visibility of the element under the fabric. If an alteration is required, the possibility of adjustment must be determined by the craftsman for that dress—no guesswork as to the outcome or method of execution.
